A fun night up on the Ridge. The Forest Ridge Choir and Glee Club were lucky enough to have a workshop with composer and conductor, Alice Parker. I have copied information about this incredible OCTOGENARIAN below. (The woman is 86 years old and absolutely amazing!!)
"Alice Parker is a national treasure: America's reigning queen of choral music."
--American Record Guide
Composer, conductor and teacher Alice Parker was born in Boston, MA in 1925. She began composing early, and wrote her first orchestral score while still in high school. She graduated from Smith College with a major in music performance and composition, then receiving her master's degree from the Julliard School where she studied choral conducting with Robert Shaw.
A fun evening.
Shot Thought: Check out the clarity with my ISO at 3200!! WOW. Set on TV at 1/80 for the most part so I could set the f-stop at 4.5.
