Today marks the official end of the school year where I teach. It is with mixed emotion that I say goodbye to fifth graders that I taught as kindergartners. Six years ago they were small and awkward. Now, they are capable and off to the next adventure in their academic life. When one has the privilege of teaching kids, they have the opportunity to see the world through their eyes--it is a beautiful view! This particular student has always stood out to me. He is kind, he is innocent, he is incredibly smart and curious...and most of all, he is just a genuinly nice person --(check out all those "good citizenship" pins he earned over the years!). As his journey now takes him to another school, he will be missed.
Shot Thought: Because I am in the shot, obviously, I did not take the picture. It was shot using my Canon S90--program mode, white balance set for a cloudy day. Not a lot of thought into the technical aspects--mostly capturing kids before they were off for the summer. Students permission was given (by mother) to use this photo.
