My good dog Spooner was envious that he did not have a showing in the "Photo a Day" blog. I thought it only right that he too have his image for all the world to see. (OK, so there are only four of you following this!) Anyway, here he is, my wonderfully youthful at heart, yet white around the muzzle, canine.
Shot Thought: The weather could not be better for outdoor portraiture today. A nice cloud cover yet bright--perfect diffusion. It took awhile for Spooner to wake up to take this shot. The shots leading up to this are hysterical--he would not open his eyes he was so snoozy. The camera was set at f2.8 and 1/1000sec to blur out the background. I used a spot focus to make sure his eyes were sharp--and evaluative metering to light the whole image appropriately. It took a few shots to get him "smiling" as well.
