Photo a Day (183): Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Our family had a treat of a morning! We ventured out to find a Christmas tree. This has always been one of my favorite pastimes with my family. We discuss the finer qualities of a Noble vs. a Douglas Fir. I am a Douglas Fir fan myself--mainly because this was all I ever knew growing up and old habits die hard (especially in my family! (Particularly with the XX chromosome side of my family.) So, once again, we came home with a beautiful Douglas Fir. The treat of the morning was that the place we went to get our tree had a free pancake breakfast...AND Santa was there! It was an incredibly sweet little morning. We had great fun watching the little kids sit on Santa's lap as he read "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" to them. As he was reading, one little boy pointed to the pictures and said, "There's you!" It was authentic and real (and so very much NOT the mall!). There was a vintage feel and warm vibe all around. Two shots today--one of the search for the perfect tree and the other of my reluctant daughter on Santa's lap.

Shot Thought: Quick grabs on a busy Sunday (mainly decorating for the holidays!) with the S90. First shot edited with palette knife.
