This weeks photo challenge of "wheels" was a blast! I had numerous shots I could have chosen from--but landed on this one. This is the wheel on the sailing ship "Adventuress". The Adventuress is a 133-foot gaff-rigged schooner which launched in 1913 in East Boothbay, Maine. The boat was brought to Seattle in 1960 (a very fine year if I don't say so myself!) Today the Adventuress is operated by the non-profit organization Sound Experience, as a platform for environmental education about the Puget Sound.
