Much fun today behind the lens! The first shot is of some school friends of my daughter who we ran into on the island. Great fun at South Beach. The second shot is of the surf. I am currently reading the book "Wave" by Susan Casey--a fascinating study of rogue waves, the ocean and the surfing life. To think these guys are surfing 100 foot waves and I was impressed with this little 3 foot wonder! The next three shots are of "wildlife" we encountered on our jaunt around the island today. (OK, maybe the lamb isn't exactly "wildlife", but boy was he cute!) Check out the foxes eyes by double clicking on the image--very cool! For the car shot, my daughter saw the Thunderbird and said, "That's a cool car over there". She has good taste and it made for a nice crisp shot. The final image of a rusty anchor hanging off a classic old boat at Roche Harbor.
Shot Thought: Girls: getting them out of the shadows with the sun overhead. Surf: Time priority mode to freeze the wave. Wildlife: Shooting away on program and center metering/center focus to get the shots. Thunder bird: Getting the blue with the blue sky with a subtle glint of the sun. Anchor: shot on program.
